Your first visit, start to finish.
If it's been a while — or if dentists have always made you tense — this page is for you. Here's exactly what happens, so nothing feels like a surprise.
How a first visit goes
Four calm steps, no rush.
Arrive & settle
Come in, take the soft seat, and let the tea and quiet do their thing. Paperwork is short and we'll have started it from your booking.
Gentle exam
Digital scans and a full look around — no cold metal poking before you're ready. We narrate as we go so you always know what's next.
Plain-talk plan
We sit down and walk through what we found, what's optional, and what it costs. Questions are encouraged; decisions are never rushed.
Your cleaning
A thorough, unhurried clean to finish, plus simple notes for home. You leave on time, knowing exactly where you stand.
For anxious patients
We take dental nerves seriously — because most of us have them too.
Tell us at booking and we'll build the visit around your comfort. There's no judgement here for gaps in care, fear of the chair, or a sensitive gag reflex. We go at the pace that works for you, and you can pause us any time with a simple raised hand.
- Noise-cancelling headphones & your own playlist
- Weighted blanket and a numbing gel before any needle
- A "stop" signal you control, honoured every time
- Nitrous (laughing gas) available on request
Before you come in
What to bring
Your ID & insurance card
So we can verify benefits and get you the most from your plan on day one. No card? No problem — bring nothing and we'll sort it.
A list of medications
Anything you take regularly, plus any allergies. It helps us care for you safely and tailor anything we recommend.
Just yourself
Arrive ten minutes early if you can. We'll have water, tea and a quiet corner waiting. That's genuinely all you need.
First-visit questions
Good things to know.
Plan for about 75 minutes. That includes a relaxed welcome, digital imaging, a full exam, your plain-language plan, and a cleaning — all without watching the clock. We'd rather give you the time than rush you back out the door.
Come in for a first breath.
Book your new-patient visit online and tell us anything that would make the chair feel easier. We'll have it ready.
